MAGNETIC DRIVE PUMP
The magnetic drive pump is a judicious choice with chemical products. This type of pump completely isolates the fluid section from the motor section.
In a magnetic drive pump, the motor shaft is coupled to a drive magnet that rotates outside the rear casing, driving an internal magnet which is directly linked to the impeller. The motor’s rotation is transmitted by magnetism through the rear casing.
In contrast to a direct drive pump, the motor’s shaft does not enter the casing, it is not directly coupled to the impeller and there is no mechanical seal to render the motor shaft leak free. Therefore, it is impossible to have a leak at the mechanical joint, which is an interesting advantage when working with corrosive and dangerous chemical products.
